How can I take care of my swimming goggles?
Your goggles are definitely worth looking after as they will last longer with a bit of care and attention. We have some quick and easy tips for ensuring yours stand the test of time.
1. RINSE THEM OFF AFTER SWIMMING
Rinsing off chlorine and pool chemicals will definitely help prolong the life of your goggles. After every swim, just remember to gently rinse your goggles in lukewarm water and leave to dry. It’s also important to remember not to rub the inside of the lenses when rinsing off as this may rub away the anti-fog coating on our goggles.
2. DON’T USE SOAP
Using soap isn’t necessary for cleaning your goggles and will actually affect the anti-fog coating.
3. LET YOUR GOGGLES DRY
It’s important to leave them to air dry naturally, flat and upright before putting them away to prevent any bacteria from forming.
4. STORE THEM CORRECTLY
Don’t leave your wet goggles in your swim bag to grow bacteria and get scratched by your other kit! Keep them in the protective case they came in so they remain as good as the day you got them.
5. KEEP OUT OF SUNLIGHT
Make sure to keep your goggles out of direct sunlight when not in use, as this can weaken the material and damage the lenses.
